PROJECTS / THEMES / AREAS
Economic Empowerment
For Global South countries like Sri Lanka, economic empowerment of communities and individuals can be the deciding factor between dire constraint and the realization of all human rights.
We work closely with government bodies, private sector partners, and financial institutions to enhance community resilience by fostering a spirit of entrepreneurship. Projects focus on the creation of opportunities for full and productive livelihoods, employment, and decent work for all members of the community. By engaging these stakeholders, we empower underserved communities to access economic opportunities, thereby contributing to economic growth and stability in the region.
Vocational Training
Increasing access to quality education, especially for disadvantaged communities, including girls and children/youth with disabilities and capacity-building through skilled professional volunteers from around the world, is a snippet of our vocational training expertise. Projects via this theme focuses on quality training, market-driven needs, equity and the long terms success of beneficiaries.
Women's Empowerment
Promoting gender equality and women's empowerment is a core pillar of The Warehouse Project's mission. We engage in civic education and advocacy to ensure women's participation and representation in decision-making processes. By supporting the development of civil society organizations and raising awareness of citizens' rights and responsibilities, we work towards creating inclusive institutions. Our efforts empower women and underrepresented groups, fostering social justice and gender equality in Sri Lanka.
Youth Empowerment
A country is its youth. Invest in youth development and you invest in nation-building and an equitable future. Which is why both our projects and partners encompass a youth-centric element that we are repetitively proud of. Did we mention we're proud of our youth empowerment programs?
From drives to increase access to education and vocational training, skills development and knowledge sharing, our youth-centric lens encourages youth engagement in sustainable development projects and civic activities, empowering them to be active contributors to their communities and society as a whole.
Entrepreneur Development
As part of our commitment to economic empowerment, The Warehouse Project actively supports entrepreneur development in Sri Lanka. We facilitate access to affordable and clean energy solutions, encouraging the adoption of renewable technologies. By working closely with local governments and private sector partners, we promote investments, access to finance, and resources for communities to transition to sustainable energy sources. This not only boosts entrepreneurship but also contributes to reducing carbon emissions and building a greener, more sustainable future.
